which gives it a spiritual, mystical undertone...
...I love to pull out nuances and pair oddities and then weave and layer them into my multidisciplinary art practice to offer up a different perspective and challenge the status quo. The work of Belgian artist René Magritte, particularly the way he combines conceptual and surrealism is a major influence. This approach also translates from my art to my work as a fashion designer and stylist. I love to put pieces, patterns and textures together in a new and unexpected way. Through my art, I seek to open people’s minds, inspire curiosity and start a dialogue that encourages them to become patrons of the arts and emboldens them with a sense of freedom to express themselves authentically rather than conforming to an ideal” - AM

Alexandra Malkin is a celebrated multidisciplinary artist, art consultant and designer. Under House of Zandar, Malkin (affectionately known as Zandar), creates her signature surreal artworks and ceramics as well as an eco loungewear and jewelry line. Malkin, a graduate of the esteemed Sotheby’s Institute of Art, who has worked for leading New York art galleries also has her own art consultancy, curating personal and investment art collections for private clients.
